Alberta Employment Connect helps connect job seekers to the right employment services and supports.
This is where you can start and get connected to the right next step.
Once you have been referred, you may be exploring what your next step looks like. This could include finding work, exploring training, building skills, or accessing support to move forward.
You do not need to have everything figured out before getting started.
1. Referral
Job seekers enter Alberta Employment Connect through referrals from the Government of Alberta.
2. Connect & Identify Needs
We connect with job seekers to better understand their goals, needs, barriers, and circumstances, and help identify the employment services and supports that best align with their situation.
3. Referral to Services & Supports
Based on each job seeker’s needs, we help connect them to the appropriate Employment Services Provider, wraparound supports, and community resources.
4. Ongoing Support
Employment Services Providers and community organizations deliver services and ongoing support to help job seekers move toward their goals.
After referral, a member of our team will connect with you to better understand your goals, needs, and circumstances.
What happens next may depend on your location. In Edmonton Metropolitan Communities, job seekers work directly with an Employment Services Provider for ongoing employment services and support. In northern smaller urban and rural communities, we help connect job seekers to Employment Services Providers and community supports based on their needs and location.
Support may include help finding work, exploring training opportunities, building skills, or connecting to community resources and wraparound supports. Employment Services Providers and community organizations deliver direct support, while Alberta Employment Connect helps ensure you are connected to the services that best fit your situation.
Alberta Employment Connect acknowledges that our work takes place on the traditional and ancestral territories of many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples across Alberta, including Treaty 6 and Treaty 8 Territories.
We recognize and honour the Indigenous Peoples who have stewarded these lands since time immemorial and whose cultures, histories, and contributions continue to shape the communities we serve today.
As we support job seekers across Edmonton and surrounding communities, as well as northern smaller urban and rural communities, we are committed to listening, learning, building respectful relationships, and supporting reconciliation through our work, partnerships, and actions.
